AUTUMN HANDBAG TRENDS OF 2025 🍂

This week I will be covering all things related to the Autumn Handbag Fashion Trends this season. I have noticed the vintage classics making a comeback, where nostalgia meets modernity. As well as functionality, especially for myself as a university student carrying my life in one bag. Textures are also trending with luxe textures such as suede materials, ensuring the perfect textured bag is matched with staple coats needed for those autumnal days. Let’s look at three of the top Autumn Handbag Trends for this year.😄🤎

 

 

·          SUEDE


Starting with Suede, this soft, rich and luxurious texture is becoming a staple piece for Autumn fashion. From chocolate browns, tobacco hues, mushroom grays and so many more. Suede material can be perfectly styled with cosy knitted sweaters, knee-length boots and furry coats. Suede adds texture and depth to designs, that brings an evitable sensory richness with a timeless design.

VINTAGE

As they say, fashion will always resurface, and vintage bags are back. The best example is the Chloe Paddington, one of the most iconic 'it' bags of the early 2000's with it's signature oversized padlock look on this nostalgic staple. This trend can be mixed with modern pieces, as shown fur jackets, maybe a classy blazer. This icon is spacious for everyday essentials, yet can effortlessly transition from a day to night piece. This is totally a full circle moment.

AUTUMNAL SHADES

For many years, black handbags were the staple. Practical, versatile and would likely pair perfectly with every outfit. However, colourful bags are definitely trending. Designers want you to embrace warmth into your outfits to add more dimension, as black is very safe. Browns and burgundies are the colours of the season. In particular, chocolate brown is cited as challenging traditional black handbags for dominance. Brown handbags can be perfectly styled with all of your neutral outfits such as beiges and ivories. Even brown on brown is a perfect match. Chocolate brown is definitely a classic now.

 

 

CHOOSING THE RIGHT PIECE FOR YOUR WARDROBE

1.      Practicality is key🔑

Make sure whatever handbag you choose is practical to suit you. Find a bag and shape that you will get use out of. If you carry lots (laptops, notebooks) you are better finding a cute, roomy tote bag. On the other hand, if you are more minimalist and your phone and lip gloss is all you need, a smaller crossbody is right up your street. Personally, a tote bag suits my lifestyle perfectly. I am a university students who commutes, therefore I need a Mary Poppins bag to fit my life in to!


2.      Investment💰

It’s no lie that handbags are definitely a pricey part of an outfit. In my previous blog I highlighted expensive luxuries compared to cheaper alternatives. However, it is inevitable that purchasing a high-end handbag is a worth while investment. High end handbags are typically made from leather, a durable material and created to be stylish all year round. So while it may break your bank in the short term, long term you will find it may well be a worthy investment!

Who doesn't love a good dupe? Girls, the real secret is that over a 3rd of the public would rather purchase a dupe of an item, rather than the real thing! #girlmath Why is this? Social media influence has normalised buying a dupe rather than splurging on a bag for hundreds of pounds. The increase of awareness of 'fakes' and 'dupes' has increased the availability of these knock off's available.
